We have recently completed the sale of a property through Beresford.
Apart from the fact that they managed to get us an offer/ buyer quite quickly they have been absent and unhelpful for most of the transaction.
From November until 2 or 3 weeks before we completed, Beresford barely communicated with us and were uncontainable despite multiple phone calls from ourselves, solicitors and other estate agents on our behalf.
In January Beresford contacted us to say our chain may be breaking as someone lower down was planning on pulling out of the sale and then we received no further communications. The sale was saved by an estate agent higher up in the chain who bypassed Beresford as they didn't answer their phoned and spoke with the agents from lower in the chain.
I emailed Beresford to complain about the lack of service and communication while mentioning the property was now being sold at a different price. I received no communications to my complaint but I did receive a new memorandum of sale.
As I couldn't get through to Beresford on the phone when the transaction was getting close to exchange, we went into the branch to complain about the lack of service we have received.
I then received a call from the agent who was involved in the sale but he did not acknowledge our complaint and spoke to us as though they've been communicating with us throughout.
All in all, throughout the journey we have been on to purchase and sell, this estate agent has been lacking in all areas of service and we would not use again- especially for the amount of money they charged us!

Very happy with the service so far. Oliver has been so helpful with booking viewings. He has a warm, friendly and professional manner and listened carefully to my requirements as a buyer. All calls have been followed up quickly with an e-mail and it’s been a great experience.

The experience with them dealing the entire process was smooth and fast. Phillipia especially was very accomodating and very informative. This is my first time transferring into a flat or a property thst deals with agent and it was a brilliant experience. I like how they are very active in updating or taking follow ups from the client regarding the progress. Well done.

You would think for a 1st time buyer that it would be the most exciting time for me, but been the worst experience I've had. So today i completed on my house and my Keys are still with the Vendor.
Last week i called them to see if the vendor can send keys to my solicitor got told he would do it at 2pm i asked the estate agents if they could drop the keys to me due to me having a stroke and no transport got told they would call me back and when they call to congratulate me that's when i find out where my keys are and now got to wait for the vendor to finish work and take them to my solicitor COMPLETE JOKE!!!
Just to now add to all this i just thought id go round to my property at 12pm to find the vendor still in the property and all money got transferred over at 10am ive just had to get onto my solicitor onto them as that property is Mine.

Beresfords on the most part are okay, However they have failed in letting themselves into my property without prior knowledge (I check emails daily including junk); even though both I and my partner have expressed to not enter the property when we are away.
Even with every 4 month inspection we have never missed one email or inspection, this un-authorised entrance falls flat of what is expected from you letting agent and home. This breach of privacy is a basic requirement I feel any company should follow. I feel sorry of who doesn't have cctv and how many homes they do this unwillingly to without anyone knowing. The fact they take pictures during these inspections I would have thought they would have better privacy standards.
UPDATE: Recently Beresfords have contacted me apologising for this situation and stated that this shouldn't have happened. They were honest in stating that they did not send me an email although all other inspections on the day in question did get an email. When discussing going forward I suggested instead of treating no response as a "okay and go ahead" to enter my property that only explicit confirmation will be used going forward in my case. This was accepted with a very can-do attitude.
I will note that I was questioned about this review and asked to update as it was felt "that 1 star was harsh" considering they made a honest mistake. In reflection, with maintenance mainly being okay with a few issues taking multiple times to repair, I wouldn't fault beresfords for this, rather the repairs made by contractors or just being the nature of repairs and the property itself. Also when it comes to the paperwork side of things I cannot say they're not fair, I did have to pay fees early on in my tenancy to have internet installed (on top of my ISP installer costs) as this was deemed a change of contract but I would hope that this is because beresfords want everything documented and altered between us and the landlord. I have updated my rating accordingly and will say, on the most part Beresfords have been better than other letting agents I've used in the past, it's a shame that this mistake has happened however I appreciate their concern to addressing the matter.
